Do we have guns and cartridges?
Yes, we include unlimited cartridges in our offer and the possibility of gun hire. We offer O/U, SbS and SA guns to choose.
Do we include transport?
Yes, our private drivers will assist you throughout all your stay from your arrival in the airport to your departure. All our drivers all bilingual in English.
What airport is best to arrive?
Madrid Barajas airport.
How long is El Despaeñadero from Madrid airport?
60 min journey.
What type of drives do we have at El Despeñadero?
At El Despeñadero we offer all kind of different drives where we have a wide selection of shooting giving a big difference of challenging birds. We consider our guests opinion essential and always like to ask what kind of drives they expect and we choose them based in their wishes.
What non-shooting guests can do if they don’t want to join to the hunters?
We offer a private golf club with private instructors if needed as well as horse riding. Shooping tours around Madrid or Toledo streets of cultural visits to other Spanish cities. Of course they will be always assisted by a representative of El Despeñadero and our drivers.
How many hunters do we recommend in a shoot?
We always like to recommend a line between 4 and 10 hunters. Never more than 10. If you are a big group of 20 hunters we can organize two silmultaneous shoots and they will join to eachother after each drive for elevenses.
Do we have helicopter or private jet service?
Yes, we offer both services under demand.
Can we organize big game hunting?
Yes. From stalking to driven boar. We work and in hand with some of the best big game hunting estates in Spain providing the highest quality big game hunting.
Is there a Dress Code?
At El Despeñadero we do not have an strict Dress Code. We always like to recommend comfortable clothes for shooting like tweeds and formal clothes (like blazer) for dinner the night before shooting. Tie not needed.
How I get my shooting license and insurance to shoot in Spain?
At El Despeñadero we manage every single step and we will get you it. A time before the shoot we will contact you asking for what we need and once we have it we will send you it by e-mail. You do not need to bring it as we already have it here in paper in the shoot day.
How much time I need to book my shooting days?
If we have availability in the day you wan to come, we can book a day even the day before, but due to the high demand we have we always like to recommend to do it as soon as possible to ensure you have availability in the date you wish.
What if I am allergic to some food or have any food restriction?
A time before the shoot we will contact you asking for your food wishes and our chef will adapt to your needs and we will make a menu under your wishes.
Can we stay one extra night after the shoot?
Yes.
What’s the itinerary for a shoot day?
The day will start at 09:30 am with breakfast and first drive at 10:30. We have 4 different drives and one sitting field elevenses with all kind of food washed down best Spanish wines after each drive. If you need an specific schedule because of your flights, etc. we will suit to your needs
What if I need a date change in my shoot?
At El Despeñadero we take your satisfaction very seriously and we will do our best to find a new date for your shoots. This change do not have any extra cost.
Is food and drinks included in the lodge?
Yes, it’s all included.

In addition to our partridge shoots we organize all kind of activities or cultural trips for those who prefer to do other kind of activities our groups that want to combine it with their shoots.

We have owr own photographer and videomaker for those who require it.
Horse Riding
In Toledo at only 25 min from the shooting estate we have one of the bests horse riding clubs of Spain where our guests can enjoy a lovely walk horse morning or even a private class.
Golf
Located in Layos at only 10 away from Toledo city we offer a private golf club in a terrain over 100 hectares with a great restaurant.
Shooping
We have at only 50 min Madrid what is the perfect city for this option. One of our drivers will assist the guests who want to go to Madrid for shooping guiding and helping them.
Cultural Trips
Toledo, Segovia, Madrid or Salamanca are just some of the cities that are a must if you want to travel and visit different places around Spain. We can provide tourist guides for our goups of guests.
Somontes Pigeon Shooting Club, Madrid
In the heart of Madrid we have the most exclusive pigeon shooting club in Spain. Without any doubt a perfect activity to test your aim before the shooting days.
I have been lucky enough to shoot this estate for 5 years and have got to know the wonderful family who run it to a degree of excellence that is rarely seen. Having been lucky enough to have shot a lot in Spain i can say that this is one of my favorite estates with fast, challenging birds unlike anything we get here in the UK. If you are looking for a new experience, great value and only a couple of hours away, i cannot recommend this estate strongly enough.
I have had several days with at El Despeñadero over the last few seasons and without exception they have been tremendous. Some fantastic venues for shooting and top class accommodation and hospitality on every occasion. I have days already booked with them for next season! First class in every way.
Now in my 3rd season with Dario Vallano (Cacerias Ibericas) and his team and every time has been an exceptional day with everything catered for, even the things you don't think of yourself. Great team from the office to the field with some of the most brilliant and challenging birds, in a beautiful estate. We adored it and couldn't recommend it more highly to anyone... Without any doubt one of the best driven shooting I have ever been and I have shot at many places in all corners of the UK and Spain.

I have visited El Despenadero on numerous occasions, for me it is the dream destination for Spanish partridge shooting. It really can't be faulted from transport, accommodation, food and hospitality I would 100% recommend you visit.

I got in touch with Dario who runs with his father El Despeñadero estate shoot in Spain to ask a few questions as i was thinking of taking a day there. Dario instantly put my mind at ease so I booked. All I can say is that those partridges were the best I have shot at for a very long time. The accommotadion where we were was simply spectacular (Cigarral de las Mercedes) I would highly recommend taking a day or two at El Despeñadero estate, we took two. We come from US so we have already booked two more days for the next season.
